BLONDE SEASON

The brighter days are showing their face a little more and so are the return of the blondies. Tis the season where Balayage and Highlight services are in abundance and people are wanting their summer glow up. What type of blonde do you want to be? See below some creations to inspire your upcoming hair colour appointment…..

Classic Highlight & Toning Service

Half Highlights, Root Tap Toning & Style by Brad @bradperrycreative

The classic highlights technique is the best way to ensure maximum brightness when you are transitioning from your darker winter colour. To modernise this technique simply ask for your desired amount of highlights (Half head or Full head) and ask for a root tape and toner. Essentially a double toning service, the root tap creates a slight shadow at the root area, taking away any harsh foil lines and final toning melts everything together with your desired shade of blonde with added glossiness. Finish with a cut and style and you are on your way to your summer hair goals.

Take Note: Expect a couple of foil sessions minimum to reach your desired brightness in many cases. Looking after the condition of your hair is number 1 priority at RADIO and we always recommend the gradual approach to keep your hair looking and feeling healthy at all times. Rome wasn’t built in a day as they say and long dark roots need time to build back up to blonde.

Full Head Balayage “The Editorial” & Toning Service

Full Head Balayage “The Editorial”, Toning & Style by Heather @heatherkinghair

The Editorial is the most common booking of Balayage here at RADIO. The Editorial is our version of a Full Head Balayage service. This is the perfect service for all over lightening, without the constant maintenance a full head of highlights may give you. The Balayage technique incorporates a more blended, soft painting of colour all over the hair and can include a mixture of techniques such as; surface painting and Baby-lights. Don’t be fooled though. Yes this is a low maintenance colour. But toner refreshing every 6 weeks is essential to keep the tone and glossy finish on point.

Bleach & Tone - The ultimate blonde!

Bleach, Double Toning & Styling by Ben @bengracehair

The most bold of blondes is the Bleach & Tone. If you are looking for ultra bright and bold blonde colour, a Bleach and tone service will be the one. This service colours every strand of the hair and lifts to a very high shade. Often the stage of toning is a 2 part service, requiring 2 toners. The first toner will do the job of removing unwanted tones exposed by raw lifting with bleach. The second toner will remove further unwanted tones and deposit your desired shade.

Is this a high maintenance colour? Yes and no. As long as you are consistent with your 6 weekly root appointments then no. All you will need to do is maintain the tone at home with the correct aftercare in the meantime. If you push closer to the 8 week mark or longer, the natural root area is no longer fresh and this is where a warm band of colour is created. This is why you often find hairstylists bleaching a band of colour first and then going in with the roots. This results in a longer appointment and more expensive appointment.

if you can commit to 6-weekly root bleaching and can invest in the correct aftercare to maintain the tone, this is the bold colour of your dreams.

The Lift & Frame

Balayage Lift & Frame with Toning by Heather @heatherkinghair

The lift and frame is the ideal service for 2 types of people. The first being the low maintenance girl, who just wants ‘A little something’. The second being the die hard Balayage client who need’s a quick top-up for an event, going on vacation, or just to tie them over if they are going through a busy period. This service incorporates foil placement mainly through the the frame of the face and the partin area.
